Ethanol SD, Denatured Alcohol, is clear colourless liquid which has been derived from corn and altered so that it contains small portions of substances that make it unfit for consumption. It is 87% ethanol and 13% methanol, and it is miscible (mixable) in all proportions with water and most organic solvents and is used as a solvent for many substances in perfumery. Ethanol is also used in making transparent soaps.
