Epsom Salt (magnesium sulfate) is a white crystalline substance that is used in foot soaks to soothe aches, soften rough spots and absorb foot odour. It is also used in bath products, hair care products, moisturizers and cleansers, as a poultice for minor scrapes and splinters, lawn, garden and plant foods. And for the kids, have them colour a picture with crayons on construction paper. Then mix equal parts of epsom salt and boiling water and have them paint it on the picture with a paint brush - it will dry with frosty crystals.
