Cedarwood Himalayan Cedrus deodora is a tall, evergreen tree up to 50 m high, occasionally more. It grows extensively on the slopes of the Himalayas in northern India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. This oil is obtained by steam distillation of the wood. In India, Cedarwood oil has been shown to possess insecticidal and antifungal properties and to have some potential for control of fungal deterioration of spices during storage.
