Benzoin essential oil Styrax benzoin is produced from a large tropical tree up to 20m high with pale green leaves. Has been used in the Orient for incense and medicine. What is commonly called benzoin essential oil is actually a benzoin resinoid which is produced by steam distillation of the gum-oleoresin. Benzoin pourable has synthetic dilutents, such as dipropylene glycol, added to dissolve the hard resinoid and make it pourable. Benzoin has a warm, vanilla-like scent that is very pleasant in an aroma diffuser but it is a very strong dermal sensitizer. Blends with - Rosewood, Sandlewood, Rose, Lemon, Junierberry, Myrrh, Jasmine, Frankincense, Coriander, and other citris & spice oils.
